Erich Vivian

Phoenix native, Erich Vivian started playing guitar at age 12. Progressing quickly, he began playing professionally in local clubs at 16.

 

After studying music theory in 1984-85 at Glendale Community College, Erich attended Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT) in Hollywood, California. There he studied with some of the top touring and recording musicians in the world. Paul Gilbert, Scott Henderson, Keith Wyatt, and Norman Brown, just to name a few. Erich also played in numerous groups and performed weekly during his time at GIT. In addition, Erich regularly attended workshops and seminars on recording, production, and songwriting.

 

Since graduating in 1987, Erich has taught, recorded, and performed extensively as a guitarist and vocalist, earning the 2008 Phoenix Music Awards Regional Guitarist of the Year.

 

Erich is extremely passionate about teaching and prides himself on being able to evaluate each individual student and design a lesson strategy to bring out the very best in each aspiring musician!
