Rich Chapman – Guitar, Piano, Bass, Mandolin, Banjo, Ukulele
Rich Chapman teaches music lessons in a variety of string instruments, including guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, and ukulele, and well as piano.
Born and raised in Phoenix, Richard started taking piano lessons at the age of 4, but quickly found his calling on the guitar. At the age of 20, and with 13 years of playing experience, he graduated from the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery (guitar building), after building both an acoustic and an electric guitar.
Richard completed his Bachelor’s Degree of Music in the field of classical guitar performance, under the instruction of professor Frank Koonce at ASU in 2007.
During this time he expanded to other instruments such as the Ukulele, Banjo, Mandolin and Bass Guitar. Richard prides himself on a teaching style that is refined, yet relaxed. He enjoys Bach and Beethoven, but still loves a good old- fashioned heavy metal band. He has a keen sense of constructive criticism, all while still remembering what it’s like to be a beginner.
